GET TO KNOW LUCKY GIRL AKILAH RELEFORD GOULD

Success is waking up in the morning and being excited about what you're working on. It's knowing that you are on the right path and feeling fulfilled.”
- Akilah Releford Gould

Akilah is a woman who knows her mind and is thoroughly ahead of her time.

Born and raised in LA, she’s a Cali girl through and through. In 2017, she founded Mary Louise Cosmetics from her Howard University dorm room to bring California’s laid-back approach to skincare and empower women to redefine beauty on their own terms. The early success of Mary Louise presented Akilah with a choice: keep the business a side hustle or bet on herself, drop out and go all in. She chose the latter and hasn’t looked back since. Inspired by her work as creative director at Casa Locé winery in the Ojai Valley, she’s applying her intelligence and easy-going charm to Lucky Girl wine to encourage women to live life on their own terms because life’s too short to live for anyone else.
